Majorca

I visited Majorce in both 2017 and 2019. On the second visit I chose 3 locations to base myself.

Pollença is a small town with a nice square in the centre filled with restaurants. Walk up the steep road to Santuari de la Mare de Déu del Puig where you will get stunning views down to the town and the surrounding mountains.

Port de Pollença is a touristy costal town but has nice walks along the promenade shadowed by pine trees. From here you get views of La Fortelaza which was the location for The Night Manager TV series. Just to the north Cala Sant Vicenç has a lovely beach with great views across the azure sea to the Formentor cliffs.

I finished up in Palma for a few days. This is a bustling city with great architecture, yacht laden harbour and narrow streets with plenty of options for food and drink. Well worth a visit for a long weekend break on it’s own merits.

Don’t be fooled that its just a tourist island. You’ll be amazed at how beautiful it is with something for everyone.
